    Hi if you are self-employed and assuming you are a sole proprietorship, single-member LLC, or even a partnership and you receive a K-1 you should be making estimated tax payments. These are not considered self-employment taxes per se, but rather estimated taxes that you are paying towards anticipated tax liability. Now if you are an S-Corporation or have chosen to be taxed as a corporation you can set yourself up on payroll whereby, you will have regular withholdings (FICA, SS, FUTA, SUTA) and the company would also be responsible for its share of employer withholding taxes.
